Air Tightness Design & Testing

nZEB Technical Guidance Document Part L 2019 requires for air pressure testing to be carried out on all new dwellings which should achieve a minimum test result of 5m3/(h.m2), tested in accordance with I.S.EN ISO 9972: 2015. The performance is assessed at 50Pa pressure difference, which is approximately 20 times the air change rate at normal conditions. The result of the air pressure test is divided by 20 for use in the dwellings final BER rating. Our experienced team can analyse your proposed design and produce an air-tightness strategy to suit your new build or retrofit. We also provide a full air tightness testing service with tests normally carried out at first fix as soon as your thermal envelope is sealed and then again upon completion.
